I had an IUD put in a little more than a month ago, and I have been bleeding since. Last week, I started getting these really bad migraines, and fevers. The fevers went away, but the headaches are still bad, but manageable. But, starting this morning, I started having this really bad pelvic pain. Also, alot of gas. Does any of this sound possible for an ectopic pregnancy? If not, what’s it sound like?
Yes I know ever woman and pregnancy is different and that some women may not even have signs. But just in general whats the earliest that signs start and which are most common to start that early?
I am 30 wks. And I have had pelvic and back pain again(I had it in my first trimester it was stretching.) but not where I can’t really sleep cause I am never comfortable no more. This has been going on for about 1 wk now and I am in a pregnancy club and they say that dropping can mean (if first pregnancy)that you will deliver in about 2 to 4 wks.Could I be having this baby really soon. I feel him in my pelvic area.
the pregnancy club didn’t describe symptoms.
The pregnancy club is on the internet babyzone.com they don’t have details but What ARE the main symptoms of dropping? where can I find info?Im not that worried and I am going to the doc its just I want to know what to expect.
My swordtail looks pretty pregnant right now, I can see little red egg like things in her (a friend said those are the frys heads) and I can see a few tiny black dots near the anal fin. Can someone tell me the stages of a swordtails pregnancy? And if you were to guess, how long till my swordtail has her fry?
I had sex on August 23rd, and then started my period two days later. Then I had sex on August 31st. We used a condom both times. My stomach has been hurting and whatnot though, so I want to take a pregnancy test just to sooth any worries I have. Since I just recently had my period, do I have to wait all the way up until I am about to start again/have a late period to check? My periods are usually irregular though, so there is no telling how long that will be. So even though I am not due for another period for awhile, can I go ahead and use a pregnancy test, and it still get a a result? Or, if I am pregnant, would it not show a positive result until I am closer to my period?
To the person who said I am too young, I am actually 20.
BOSTON (Reuters) – Large amounts of vitamins C and E do not prevent preeclampsia, blood pressure problems in pregnant women, researchers reported on Wednesday.
In fact, results from the 4-1/2-year test of nearly 5,000 women found those taking very high doses of the two vitamins were 10 percent more likely to develop high blood pressure during pregnancy than volunteers taking placebo pills.
“There’s no way anyone could justify treating patients with these drugs” during pregnancy, Dr. James Roberts of the University of Pittsburgh, who led the study, said in a telephone interview. “Clearly vitamins C and E are not an answer to the problem.”
Preeclampsia is a condition that can occur during pregnancy that involves high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine. While the blood pressure increases may not be huge, preeclampsia if left untreated can lead to severe and sometimes fatal complications for the woman and baby.
Roberts stressed the latest findings do not mean that pregnant women should not take their prenatal vitamins, which contain much lower doses of vitamins C and E.
The study found that other problems such as low birth weight or respiratory distress syndrome, or the need for a Caesarean section, were also unaffected by the daily dose of 1,000 mg of vitamin C or 400 International Units of vitamin E.
The study, reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, was undertaken because an earlier test of 283 women found that the two vitamins reduced the risk of preeclampsia — a major cause of death among pregnant women in developing countries — by 60 percent.
But the result has been controversial because other tests failed to support that original finding, perhaps because only 17 percent of the women in the original study were taking prenatal vitamins.
In subsequent tests, 70 percent were already taking prenatal vitamins.
Roberts said two other large-scale tests of the vitamins have also suggested that the vitamins may actually contribute to hypertension.
“It clearly looks like the finding is real based on the three studies,” he said.
Vitamins, however, play other roles in protecting from disease.
“In the United States, obstetricians generally recommend that pregnant women take a multivitamin formulated for pregnancy, especially if they aren’t eating a well-balanced diet,” Dr. Catherine Spong of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, which helped pay for the study, said in a statement.
“In our study, participants took supplements containing higher doses of vitamins C and E — about 10 times the amount in typical prenatal vitamins — in addition to any pregnancy vitamins they may have been taking.”
In the United States, preeclampsia is present in 15 percent of premature births and can affect both the mother and the fetus.
If a girl has an abortion and 2-3 days later a home pregnancy test is still positive and she still shows signs of pregnancy, is it normal? Or a sign that the procedure wasn’t done correctly?
I’m going tomorrow to get a pregnancy test and I was wondering how they do it. Is it a blood test? And also, how long does it take for them to get the results? Thanks!
If all they do is a urine test how are they any more effective than me taking a test at home?
I have a baby boy that is nearly 4 months old. I did have a period last month, January 18th start date. I missed this month and was about to go ahead and start birth control, but thought better take a pregnancy test to be sure. They have all come back positive.
So, I am just curious if I could get a false positive after giving birth back in November of 2008.
