i agree with some of the answers as far as it is unusual to have a period while pregnant, BUT IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! I had a period the first 2 months of my pregnancy with my son, and yes it did cause alarm with me and I did see the Dr. However, it doesn’t always mean anything is wrong! I would see a Dr to confirm it either way. Stressing over this will cause your period to go haywire. Call the Dr! Can’t hurt!

It’s possible she no where need menopause. But at her age her periods can still start acting weird as she gets closer. Doctors are not always right either, keep that in mind. It is very hard for them to pinpoint menopause. She could go a whole year at this point in life not getting a period. And get one that’s really heavy. Or never have one again. Also, keep in mind you don’t need any other signs of menopause to actually be going through it.

So I really don’t think she pregnant. Not saying that she isn’t but its probably just her body. It works in mysterious ways!!!

My Auntie is the same age and has just given birth, but some women will hit the menapause earlier than others with different symptoms.

Getting the doctor to check is the only way to know.

First of all you have to confirm your self if you are pregnant. If you are in the initial stages of pregnancy, you cannot have sex for at least 3 months. Doctors say it is safe for the child and the mother.
If you are pregnant and you are having a bleeding, you have to go and meet the doctor immediately. You cannot beleed during pregnancy.

These are all signs that she may be pregnant, after 5 they all sound very familiar to me. The fastest way to find out is go to a family planning clinic and have a test. Or wait oh say 9 months and see what happens. Good Luck!

did she try taking a blood test its accurate and if it came negative then she should go to a doctor my mom had the same problem and she had a missed period for 3 months when she went to check the doctor told her thats it has something to do with hormones they mad her take a blood test to see the levels of her hormones and the doctor was right so she gave her some pills to make them return to normal levels and my mom is 45 years

Specific answer to the Question alone is NO.
Home pregnancy tests, though reliable can show negative results even at
full term so also positive within a week of getting pregnant. The specificity varies
from individual to individual, so also the time of Collection of urine sample of the day.

For the narration you have given TWO possibilities:
You can still be pregnant. All your periods were normal and the Next cycle is due only.
In an anxiety you have tested 4 times Urine home preg kits- either on the same day or different times within last 4 days.,so also in the clinic same test.

For it to become positive minimum period of 7 days to even 2 months, is needed, by the time other symptoms will develop, so the chance of your being pregnant cannot be ruled out, till your due cycles are on date.

But you are not at all 6 months pregnant,
as the possibility of you being a lab technician doing the test for else body cannot be ruled out.,
as a 6 months pregnant lady will not be advised to do this test by any qualified Doctor.

NB: It would be worthwhile to note that there are so many Clinics ranging from Dental clinics to Beauty clinics. Without testing itself Only a woman can be pregnant and Can go to these Clinics, so also a girl Can get pregnant , with elseOne’s Urine negative tests too.

Even a teenager, canelse body’sbody’s sample (pregnant lady of 6 months) to a Medical clinic
and the test report can be negative, due to non specificity, but the teenager can be having early,
pregnancy and symptoms will appear only after 2 weeks.

My mom is 49 and started feeling the menopause around 48,soooo your doctor could just be wrong. My mom went without a period for a couple months, then was on for a couple months.Menopause does it’s own thing with each individual. Try going to another doc for a second opinion.

ok well i give the same info to all people who are wondering about being pregnant,i do hope that this info i have put together through my nursing school and personal knowledge will help you! this is an honest answer and probably the best answer you will get without being redirected to another web site or simply being told to just take a test like most others will say! This is a personal experience, i was on birth control pills and i had my period for the first 5 months of my pregnancy and every urine test i took came out negative it wasnt until i took a blood test that i found out i was pregnant. and now i am pregnant again and this time i was on the depo shot to avoid pregnancy and has been breastfeeding before i got on it and was never unprotected other than not using a condom, if you have sex without a condom there is ALWAYS a possibility of being pregnant no matter what u do…so here is a list of the top 10 earliest signs of pregnancy!!

10. Tender, swollen breasts
One of the early signs of pregnancy is sensitive, sore breasts caused by increasing levels of hormones. The soreness may feel like an exaggerated version of how your breasts feel before your period. Your discomfort should diminish significantly after the first trimester, as your body adjusts to the hormonal changes.

9. Fatigue
Feeling tired all of a sudden? No, make that exhausted. No one knows for sure what causes early pregnancy fatigue, but it’s possible that rapidly increasing levels of the hormone progesterone are contributing to your sleepiness.

You should start to feel more energetic once you hit your second trimester, although fatigue usually returns late in pregnancy when you’re carrying around a lot more weight and some of the common discomforts of pregnancy make it more difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

8. Implantation bleeding
Some women have a small amount of vaginal bleeding around 11 or 12 days after conception (close to the time you might notice a missed period). The bleeding may be caused by the fertilized egg burrowing into the blood-rich lining of your uterus — a process that starts just six days after fertilization — but no one knows for sure.

The bleeding is very light (appearing as red spotting or pink or reddish-brown staining) and lasts only a day or two. (Let your practitioner know if you notice any bleeding or spotting, particularly if it’s accompanied by pain, since this can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy.)

7. Nausea or vomiting
If you’re like most women, morning sickness won’t hit until about a month after conception. (A lucky few escape it altogether.) But some women do start to feel queasy a bit earlier. And not just in the morning, either — pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting can be a problem morning, noon, or night.

About half of women with nausea feel complete relief by the beginning of the second trimester. For most others it takes another month or so for the queasiness to ease up.

6. Increased sensitivity to odors
If you’re newly pregnant, it’s not uncommon to feel repelled by the smell of a bologna sandwich or cup of coffee and for certain aromas to trigger your gag reflex. Though no one knows for sure, this may be a side effect of rapidly increasing amounts of estrogen in your system. You may also find that certain foods you used to enjoy are suddenly completely repulsive to you.

5. Abdominal bloating
Hormonal changes in early pregnancy may leave you feeling bloated, similar to the feeling some women have just before their period arrives. That’s why your clothes may feel snugger than usual at the waistline, even early on when your uterus is still quite small.

4. Frequent urination
Shortly after you become pregnant, you may find yourself hurrying to the bathroom all the time. Why? Mostly because during pregnancy the amount of blood and other fluids in your body increases, which leads to extra fluid being processed by your kidneys and ending up in your bladder.

This symptom may start as early as six weeks into your first trimester and continue or worsen as your pregnancy progresses and your growing baby exerts more pressure on your bladder.

3. A missed period
If you’re usually pretty regular and your period doesn’t arrive on time, you’ll probably take a pregnancy test long before you notice any of the above symptoms. But if you’re not regular or you’re not keeping track of your cycle, nausea and breast tenderness and extra trips to the bathroom may signal pregnancy before you realize you didn’t get your period.

If you’ve been charting your basal body temperature and you see that your temperature has stayed elevated for 18 days in a row, you’re probably pregnant.

In spite of what you might read on the box, many home pregnancy tests are not sensitive enough to detect most pregnancies until about a week after a missed period. So if you decide to take one earlier than that and get a negative result, try again in a few days. there is a site you can go 2 to look at the exact test you took and see what other people got as either a positive or negative, the site is, this way if you need advice on if its positive or neg this will give you a visual.

Once you’ve gotten a positive result, make an appointment with your practitioner.

All of those symptoms could be from pregnancy or they could be caused by something else like hormone imbalance, new birth control, etc. If she has had unprotected sex then pregnancy is a possibility. Frequent urination usually starts around 6-8 weeks, and the dark line starts around 12 weeks.

If you have no symptoms, haven’t missed your period, have negative tests at home and a clinic, why do you think you’re pregnant? You would have shown some kind of symptoms by now if you were 6 months pregnant. You’re not pregnant. But if you are trying, then keep at it and get an ovulation kit so you will know when is the best time to try.

While they all sound like pregnancy symptoms in one way or another, she needs to test. The dark line doesn’t normally appear until later in pregnancy, same with the harder stomach. Her “chances” depend on whether she was sexually active during ovulation and if she used a method to prevent it. Home pregnancy tests are relatively inexpensive, so I suggest she take one. Depending on how late she is, the results will only take a few minutes.

Nausea and fatigue can be a sign of pregnancy. However, do a home pregnancy test to confirm this. If you do the home pregnancy test too early, it may show a negative. Don’t be disappointed. Wait a few days after your missed period and then do the test. A week after you miss your period, these tests reach 99% accuracy.

I don’t think you’re pregnant. Sometimes having sex, especially if it is new to you, can throw off your period. It can cause irregular bleeding and cramping. Your body has to get used to things it is unfamiliar with.

You may not be pregnant. That has happened to me, and it wasn’t until i missed mine where i was pregnant. The cramping, doesn’t normally occur until later in the pregnacy, so that is probably just your menstral cramps. If your feeling sick in a couple weeks-months, then you might want to question that

Every pregnancy is different. With my son I had barely any symptoms. The pregnancy was smooth. But I just found out I am pregnant again and I have every symptom in the book. Sore boobs, nausea, light headedness, cramps, etc. So it is hard to say if your second pregnancy will be easier or not. You won’t worry as much though because you went through it already. Congrats!

It usually takes a woman’s body one year to recover after the birth of a child – since it has not been a year since your first child and you are pregnant with your second it may be more difficult on your body. With that said, each pregnancy is different and has it’s own share of problems. In general labor is shorter the second time around – which was my case – my first child took 8 hours and second was only 45 minutes. Good luck, and pamper yourself a bunch!

With all the research I did it best to have sex a day or 2 before you ovulate. The reason being you only have 12-14hrs to get pregnant. I was having a hard time getting pregnant myself. Sperm can stay alive up to 5 days. So if u ovulate around the 12th day be sure to have sex on the 10th or 11th to be sure there is active sperm when u ovulate.

I heard but dont know but drinking a table spoon of cough medicne helps the mucus in the vagina make it easier for the sperm to get to the egg.

I also wanted to say I miscarried 4 times before I had my daughter and I want to say not to give up.

I started to feel symptoms around 6 weeks.. The smell of strong foods really got to me and also the smell of my car. I was in bed by 7pm and was absolutely exhausted. Maybe try catch up on your sleep, and if you miss your period then take a test.

Pregnancy symptoms can start a few days before AF is due, but generally get more pronounced as you near the 6 week mark (from LMP). The best time to test is when (or after) AF is due, as most tests pick up 25 iu of hCG, which is normally above this level around the time AF is due.

Having a “heavy head” isn’t a typical symptom (headaches are more common at around 10-14 weeks due to hormones). The tiredness can be. Sore breasts are a common sign. Nausea is less common until around 6-8 weeks.

Holy cow!

I can’t say anything about the ease of a second pregnancy from a personal standpoint, but I can tell you I have a friend who had children VERY close in age and by the time she got to her last child, the pregnancy was the most difficult she’d ever had. She had pregnancies so close together that her body didn’t have a chance to readjust, and it eventually took its toll.

I’d say wait a while longer for baby #3 for the sake of your own system.

The good news is that the whole “stretching” thing should be easier since your abdomen has already done it once before, and I hear second labors are shorter, too. Those are two positives, so it can’t be all bad. Plus your kids will be closer, because they won’t know life without eachother.

No, you can have a blood test done and they can tell you for sure. I would think that this would be the first thing the doctors did to check your hcg levels. You might need to look for a more concerned doctor.

The home test should be accurate. A lot of women don’t even know they are preggo for about 4-8 weeks. If you are worried that he appointment is set out too late… don’t. All they will do is check the heartbeat and prescribe prenatal vitamins. If you want a head start go to any drug store or supermarket and pick up a bottle of over the counter prenatals. Your doc will give you a test on your first visit, this test is essentially the same as the one you took at home. I think you are stressing a bit too much and stress is bad for the baby. Just chill, if you want, go get one of those $17 tests from the store to ease your mind.

No, an ultrasound is not the only way. They also have blood work that they can do in order to see if you truly are pregnant. But more than likely you are if the test said you are. There are very few faulty pregnancy tests.
Also, the only way to know about how far along you are is by an ultrasound. And those appointments probably get done at 8 weeks because most woman know about 6 or 7 weeks. You can not be expected to know, nor should your doctor, until an ultrasound gets done. My first ultrasound was at 8 weeks but it was not planned that way and it was not even mentioned to me.
I think that planned parenting will give you free blood work in order to see if you truly are pregnant. I’m not sure though. But there should be somewhere in your area that will give you free blood work in order to see if you are pregnant.

On my 1st pregnancy I was not willing to take what the pregnancy test said for real. But days passed and I did not get my period. Yet my doctor took my word for it, saying that home pregancy tests these days are pretty accurate. I did not even get a blood test to determine pregnancy. She just scheduled me for an ultrasound at 7 weeks and sure enough there was a little blob in there. If you got a positive test and still don’t get your period, and STILL don’t think you are pregnant you can either do a blood test or have the Ultrasound.

I think that I felt the same way when I discovered I was pregnant in January. My doctor had me wait 2 weeks and then come in to get the ultrasound done. When you’re at the doctors office, they’ll do another pregnancy test along with the ultrasound. So, as strange as it is, I think that it’s normal procedure. Good luck!

Yes. For me, I was 45 days late before a positive test. Going to the MD is your best bet. They can test your blood. Which is a much more reliable way. I was told that it did not show up in urine tests because of stress. Go figure! Good Luck Girl.

Don’t worry it is never too late.

If you are in India I suggest you
go to nearest medical stores and take i-pill, if I-pill is not available then ask for other medicines similar to that like one from Novartis I don’t remember the name.
But just go and ask the medical store they will provide you the pills without any prescriptions, no questions asked.
Remember you are giving them the business and money, so it is upto u what u want to buy.

If you are worrying about going to nearest store then try one near your office. or try one away from your home.

Remember 4 things
1. Don’t worry, Don’t feel ashamed
2. Don’t take any tensions

Yes, it does all depend on the person. Some will experience implantation bleeding (slight spotting after the egg implants into the uterus) and they start feeling pregnancy signs about a week afterwards, and others don’t feel anything – they just take a PG test and find out that way !

Its not bad if you don’t experience any PG signs, most women are terrified if they’re not puking their guts out or something, thinking that the baby isn’t ok. Its quite normal to experience ZERO symptoms during pregnancy. Don’t worry if this is you, be thankful as most symptoms are pretty harsh !!

Pregnancy symptoms may only begin once baby has attatched itself to your uterine lining during implantation. This is when a large levels of the HCG hormone is released into your body to support the pregnancy and this often affects things like your breasts (either shape/ size or feeling), nausea, headaches, cramps etc. This will all happen around 6-2 days after ovulation, so around a week or less before your period is due.

These all of course can be PMS symptoms, especially when felt in the week before your period is due. Keep an eye out for anything you don’t normally feel. Some women don’t experience any signs of pregnancy other than a missed period, it’s all different for individuals – good luck!

Actually, the middle trimester is the PERFECT time to fly. Less nausea, but not into the serious edema issue yet. Most ‘Babymoon’ vacation packages are designed for pregnant women in months 4, 5 and 6.

It is perfectly safe to fly anytime before 32 weeks. After that you will need a doctors note stating that you are ok to fly short distances until 36 weeks when you will no longer be permitted to fly.

Drink plenty of fluids on the trip and walk around often (although for a 2 hour flight you should be ok to just stay in the seat)

Very least likely for her to get pregnant if there is no actual penetration. Chances are if there are consiredable number of sperms spilled very proximal to her vaginal orifice and such sperm are “super highly motive” and one or few managed to sneak in and it happened that she is ovulating then she could get pregnant.This case happens very very rarely though. You should wait until the day that you’re supposed to get your next period to take a test for the most accurate test results. And yes, drinking a lot of fluid before taking a test can dilute your urine which can possibly lead to an inaccurate result. For most accurate results use first morning urine (right away when you wake up in the morning). It’d have the highest concentration of hCG.

No that’s not true, 2 weeks after is to soon to test. You need to wait until you miss a period or if you want a few days before it’s due. When that time comes make sure you test with your first morning urine that’s when the HGC levels are highest. Oh and it doesn’t matter what you drank before it, you took it to soon so that’s why it was negative, you might still be pregnant.

It’s crazy…here you are, trying your hardest to get

i had a misscarraige in february this year, then concieved in april, im now 39 weeks and due in boxing day, so anything is possible. ( we only had sex the one time since my misscarraige, and i got pregnant!)

First Prepare a ovulation chart..to trace the ovulation day..

First u must know ur ovulation day….normally for 28 days cycle the ovulation day will on14th count from 1st day of period.u must have sex before 2 days of ovulation. After the ovulation happens, it is the most fertilized day, so the egg will live for 12-24 hours only.But a sperm can live for 2 to 3 days in uterus.. so know ur ovulation day by using ovulation kit or some common symptom for ovulation is ur BBT(Basal bosy tempurature) will be high, ur cervix muscus will egg white, breast pain etc.Better go for ovulation kit.

Have a cool foods, drink lot of water…

After u have sex simply lay down for atleast 1/2 hour..

The most likely answer is that your body still thinks it is pregnant. Even after giving birth, it takes time for your body to return to normal and stop making the hormones it makes during pregnancy. I’m sorry you had a miscarriage, but try to focus on getting healthy again before you think about beinmg pregnant. Sometimes your body is too stressed to be pregnant or has too little energy to grow a baby.

1. Predict your most fertile days by
a. using ovulation test strips
b.Charting method. etc….. see online help.

2.start take prenatal vitamins having sufficient amount of follic acid and DHA.

3. Get online help for best positions ( what i know is mitionary position is the best – boy on top of girl).

4. If try to lay down having pillow below your butt for about 20-30 minutes after sex. this will help swimmer sperm to reach faster.

This is all i know and you can find more help online.(by googling)

if you’re having sex the possibility is always there. but it could just be symptoms of your period coming tho. being that you haven’t one since the m/c you may get symptoms you haven’t had before. try to wait at least cycle before trying to get pregnant again, I know it’s hard, I’ve been exactly where you are. but give your body that chance to heal, at least one cycle, dr’s usual recomment three. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy very soon.

hi,usually what happens is that when a woman wants to get pregnant,she really gets her mind and soul into it.her emotions are fillled with longing so deep she forgets to relax and live everyday normally, usually this anxiety can lead to 1. getting no periods 2. over eating= weight gain 3. stress(you try to find comfort in wanting to love something/one) 4. you are experiencing your emotional waves and feel secure taking it out on your man with the pretense your pregnant and having mood swings, that way your less guilty of what you say. 5. we need to be loved and understood.

oh yes it true that the pregnant women are asked to have certain kind of food which would help babies get a light complexion.

like saffron in milk, coconut water, etc ( if that was the case then the 80% of South Indians would never have had dark skin as their land is full of coconut trees)
I think this is said cause majority in India want their babies to be with light complexion. So its simply said to make pregnant woman eat healthy diet. As due to nausea, vomiting and hormonal changes its really difficult to eat.

There is a belieft that adding saffron in milk gives lighter colour. However, there is no scientific basis for this. This is just a belief.

Colour of the skin depends on: genetic, general climmatic condition of the region, etc. Higher the content of melanin (Vitamin K), darker the skin is. ,people in the southern most part of India, who are closer to Equator are darker compared to the people in the extreme North like Kashmir.

My mom and grandma had less common symptoms. Such as pressure in the lower pelvis. Not crampy just pressure. Their hair and skin felt greasy and dirty ALL the time. One of them had weird sensations around their belly button . Hope this helps. Good luck and baby dust to you!

Sorry to say, but every woman will experience different symptoms when first pregnant… and the symptoms are all so very close to PMS symptoms.

My advice is to just relax until Saturday, take care of yourself as if you were pregnant (you’re taking prenatal vitamins, right?) and and test when you can.

If you can’t get in to see you doctor today, than I would go to the hospital. It is rare but not unheard of to have a miscarriage at any stage of the pregnancy (they may call it a still birth, but basically the same thing). Since this is your 4th child, you should know you body pretty well. Every pregnancy may be different, but having braxton hicks (you seems pretty sure of this) this early should be giving you a red flag. Good luck.

They say not to read a negative result after the allotted time because it might look positive or something. Yea you can still get what seems like your period and yea you can get negative results and still be pregnant. It is highly unlikely to have that and have used a condom though. Period vary with every woman and can be early or late or weird sometimes, that’s normal. Are her periods the same. Like the color, lighter or heavier, the smell etc. I’ve heard if your pregnant the period will have no odor really, not like usual. Has she had pinkish brown spotting? because that could mean pregnancy or implantation spotting. Does she have other symptoms of pregnancy? it sounds like she is just worrying too much. Go to doctor to be sure.

She is more than likely not pregnant. If you wait too long to look at the test sometimes you can see faint lines. They are only good for 10 minutes. I am sure she is fine. If she is worried she could have a blood test at the Dr but if she isn’t get a positive now she is more than likely not pregnant.

No, as long as you are sure the condom did not break then it is impossible for her to be pregnant, not only does the condom withhold the sperm it also contains spermicide to help kill off the sperm so they don’t get the woman pregnant.

The faint line and dots your speaking of do not sound like they were where the Pos should have showed.

All is well, just wait until she gets her normal cycle, however if she does not get it then she should seek medical attention to be sure all is well.

Not all people get symptoms to tell that they are pregnant. I kept reading and hearing from different women how I would “just know” when I did get pregnant. Not the case at all. I still don’t feel pregnant and am 2 months into it. Best way to find out if you are pregnant if you don’t get your period is to take a Home Pregnancy Test. Good luck!

Some women experience symptoms sooner than others. When I was pregnant I had period symptoms. my boobs were tender and I always have had upper back aches before my period. I also had discharge which was also normal for me before a period. I did not know any different. I just thought at the time because I was traveling and there was time change(i’ve read this can affect your periods) I was also excited and had some anxiety during this trip so I figured that may of been why I was late. but after 5 days being back from my trip I knew i should of started my period by then. So i took a test. it came out positive, but 3 weeks later it ended in a miscarriage. So like I said everyone is different. There could be a possibility but I wouldn’t worry too much. that could make your period even later.

If you’re on your period then you are not pregnant. It is possible to just lightly spot when you’re pregnant, but not full-on-bleed.

I may have misread your question. But no, if you were pregnant you won’t always have other symptoms. The most common early symptom is tender breasts.

Please be careful, because “pulling out” before ejaculating doesn’t always work. I was on the pill and got off of it two months ago. My husband got me pregnant by “pulling out” in just 2 months! I should have known better.

I am 7 weeks pregnant and have NO symptoms, not even tender breasts.

I don’t get what you mean by “2 days in getting your period”.

Did you get your period 2 days ago? Is it 2 days away? 2 days late?

Probably you wouldn’t be feeling symptoms yet if it’s any of those situations. If it’s a normal period (not extra light or anything) then you’re almost definitely not pregnant. If you’re 2 days late then it’s possible but 2 days isn’t much yet. Just take a test. It’s also unlikely if you got pregnant from pre-c um but that’s still possible.

I dont know how other people did it…but I was walking about 5 days after my c section…which helped get a lot of fluid off of my body. I think I lost about 18lbs in the first 10 days after delivery. the rest came off with walking and eating correctly and some exercise.

My “in shape” shape never really came back before I got pregnant again…bummer.

Lamaze is a way of teaching you how to deal with childbirth pain and the changes your body goes through. Yoga can teach you how to breathe when you are pregnant…and teach you good posture for your pregnant frame. Lamaze isnt an exercise class.

As long as your active and don’t completely use being prego as an excuse to pig out …you should only gain baby weight and that drops off the minute you have the child given a week or so because of the trama your body has gone threw. They checked me at my 35 week appointment and I was dilated 1.5 cm and was already 80% effaced! But – I didn’t give birth until 39 weeks. Apparently you can dilate for a while and still not go into labor….

you answered your own lamaze question. the classes prepare you for labor, you can ask questions and are in there with others who may have the same questions on childbirth. its a great class to take! on the weight issue, metabolism plays a role in weight loss. exercising and eating right is very important after childbirth. some ppl have a higher metabolism and are able to knock the weight off quicker. i was one who got way to skinny because i didnt take the time to care for myself….i was too busy with a colic baby. overweight people just need to talk their bodies into getting healthy again…the same goes for underweight ppl. burning calories and calorie intake is also very important!

If you’re nervous go with big brand names, because they need to worry about lawsuits from the condoms breaking! (just kidding). Make sure it’s put on properly. It’s easy to put them on inside out which will increase the chances of breaking. Since this is your first time, I know it sounds lame, but read the instructions and put it on yourself. Since this is your first time, the boy won’t have anything to lose if the condom breaks so take responsibility. But condoms don’t break frequently. Just make sure that you’re not using this as a way to put your fear of losing your virginity to something else, so it sounds like an excuse. The best excuse not to have sex is, I don’t want to. Also, if you use lubricant, use a condom-safe one. Some oil based ones break down the latex of a condom. Just make sure you don’t put it on wrong and you’ll be fine. Just make sure it’s what you want to do!

I was only a “fingertip” dilated until I went to the hospital and was induced. I went for my regular check-up 2 days before my due date and told my OB I was SO tired of being pregnant and that it was a good weekend for me to have my son because my husband was off work for several days straight so I went in that night (at about 1/2 cm dilated) and they gave me a pill – I can’t remember what it was called – that got me contracting. I had regular contractions until about 3 AM but didn’t dilate. They started my pitocin then and I really contracted hard but still didn’t dilate. About 8 AM I was in so much pain but only about 2 1/2 cm so my OB came in and told them to get my epidural going and right afterward he came back in and broke my water. I went from 2 1/2 to 3 cm at about 9 AM to 10 cm at 12 PM, started pushing at 12:05PM and my son was born at 12:48PM!

However, the nurse at my OB’s office walked around at 3 cm for 2 weeks so, like you said, everyone is totally different! And just because you might dilate early this pregnancy, your next may be like mine.

Breastfeeding works wonders with the weight. And if you are breastfeeding, you shouldn’t worry about the weight at all and certainly not trying to lose it. Eat a well balanced diet, but remember your baby needs the calories.

latex is the best…I personally like Trojans I’ve heard of lifestyle’s breaking a lot so I never touched em…and if you’re really concerned about breaking don’t get ultra thin though they feel better obviously they break easier.
The pill and a condom combined are about the best preventative measures you can take.

You have to exercise to get all of the baby weight off unless you are blessed with a high metabloism. (Which I was not!!)

Lamaze does teach you how to breathe during delivery. I took the class and used it until I could not take it anymore and had to have the epidural. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for getting the epidural!!

After a couple rough weeks–I simply didn’t WANT to eat–it wasn’t that I was ill, just really grossed out by the concept of food! I didn’t really get over it until 16 weeks. Not to freak you out-But with my son, I was at 41 weeks and had not dilated. He hadn’t even dropped into the birth canal! I had to be induced because he was overdue and a little too comfortable in the womb lol. Not typical though, but I believe it’s more common to dilate closer to your due date with first babies. With my first I tested at 12 dpo and got a negative. I tried the same brand at 14 dpo and got a positive.

I tested at 10 dpo with my second and got a positive.

Testing early and getting a positive outcome all depends on when implantation occurs. (You can’t know when this happens) If you implant early you can get an early positive but most women don’t get positives until 12-17 dpo

I don’t believe cream’s work.

I actually didn’t use any cream during my pregnency and I didn’t get a single stretch mark.
It just depends on your body – If your going to get them then your going to get them.

BTW, I did hear that if your going to use anything then use straight up Vit.E cream.

well I am 17 weeks and I have only felt my baby move once or twice so far, both times I had just woke up and was laying still in bed and felt like what seemed to be a butterfly or a fish swimming in my stomach (sounds crazy, but that is what it felt like). When I went for my ultrasound last week the baby was all over the place, basically bouncing off of my uterus! He was tossing and turning and flipping and kicking, I would really like to know how I don’t feel that! The doctor told me today that I should feel the baby more within the next week or so! I can’t wait…

You should not be having sex if you’re worried about getting pregnant.

You’re ready to have sex when you’re mature enough to except the idea that if the condom breaks, you will be able to care for that potential baby.

There is no 100% way to prevent pregnancy other then abstaining from sex until you’re ready.

Sorry to say but it has nothing to do with creams and lotions on the market. It all has to do with your genes and the elasticity of your tummy…I have 3 kids and used every cream out there from palmers cocoa butter to almost every other kind and got stretch marks with every one of my children. Chances are if your mother had stretch marks when pregnant with you,you will get them with your pregnancies. It is in your genes,so find out the info on your mom and just hope she doesnt have many to show you =)
either way,even though they are stubborn things,just think of them as your little ones marks that u will look back on when he/she is older.

yes, you can but with a precaution in the ninth month. dont pressure her a lot. you can do sex with his wife in in the last day of pregnancy before water coming out, if she feels comfortable. there are lots of exercises for safer sexthat can be used in the case of pregnancy. but i advice, avoid it in the last week.

be prepared my dear, it may fade with time, but it probably won’t ever go away……the line has to do with the hormones in your body from being pregnant; once it is there, it’s there. you might consult a dermatologist though, they may be able to do some type of laser therapy……..they can remove tattoos now, so it might be worth checking into………personally, if i were you, i wouldn’t worry about it. this is something that happened to you out of the love that you and your significant other shared. you have a beautiful baby, this line is a natural part of life, cherish it.

It is only a danger to the woman if you have a sexually transmittable disease. You can have sex with your woman even into the early throws of labor. Actually, it can help speed up the labor because she is more relaxed and it might hurt less because her muscles are more relaxed. Give your woman the lovin’ that she deserves. Kiss her lots during the labor, give her back rubs and foot rubs and make her feel good. Definitely have sex with her right up until that special day, if she wants it of course.

If it feels like how you normally feel before your period, then I wouldn’tt stress. You might be driving yourself crazy and picturing the symptoms to be new and extreme, so watch yourself to see if your mind is building them up to be bigger than they are. If you are sure that you are feeling things in your body youdefinitelyy haven’t before (I would google some of the obvious ones), then even so, wait a week or so before you start to scare yourself. Keeping yourself calm is very important. For me, symptoms I have that are similar to pregnancy symptoms are bloatedness, daytime sickness, and enlarged breasts. I had to get comfortable with them as I figured them out when I was young before I realized they werent preg. symptoms. Now, if breasts feel especially sore and if the bloatedness feels different and I start getting ill in the morning, amongst many other things, Ill know to worry. As you get to know your body more, as you get older, this wont be as stressful.

Its better to use protection during sex, and good that you understand about it.
But if you have not used it. nothing to feel shy about.
The sooner you get to know about your exact situation, better it is. and believe me your doctor if you go early for the test your doctor will not feel anything bad about you. In-fact she/he will only think that you are a responsible person and that’s why you have come so early for the test.
So you can simply tell her that so many days earlier I had unprotected sex and I may be pregnancy so I just want to do an ‘early pregnancy scan’. The will not take more than 5-10 mins.
You can test it using other methods also at your home, using home pregnancy test kit. It is available on the counter at medical stores.

Even with a condom and the pill or any other form of contraceptive you can still get pregnant. It happened to me and my husband we used a condom and I was on the pill.
Anytime you have sex regardless of contraception there is a CHANCE that you could get pregnant, short of sterilization. (tubes tide or vasectomy.) there is not a 100% way to prevent pregnancy other than abstinance.

First of all, if you really want to prevent pregnancy, you should use birth control like the pill or condoms, or quite franklly both. Sex is messy and a man ejaculates 500 million sperm in one go. All it takes to fertilize your egg is ONE. Are you going to take a chance that not ONE of these 500 million will make it through all the fluids that can drip back into your vagina?
I can guarantee you one thing for CERTAIN – this man does NOT KNOW what he is doing. And it is utterly irresponsible not to mention selfish of him to even suggest that he can control all these millions of sperm and guarantee that not one of them will end up in the wrong place. Frankly, I would not even want to have sex with such a man, but that’s beside the point.

So to answer your question, while I do not have the statistics for pregnancies that have resulted from anal sex I can tell you for certain (and you can verify this with any doctor, health provider) that absolutely do NOT use this method to prevent yourself from getting pregnant.

Not to mention, it absolutely will NOT protect you from STDs, which is even worse. Aids is transmitted through anal sex constantly.

Use a condom, regardless of what kind of sex you are having, and certainly tell anyone who refuses to do so and thinks they know what they are doing to take a hike!

Every woman is different. I had no symptoms at all until week 11, but some women seem to know within a few days. The first sign to look for is an unusually light ‘period’ (implantation bleeding) or a missed period. But…if your periods are irregular like mine, it might take longer for you to notice.

For me, the symptoms were:$$ fatigue and feeling like I had PMS, but without having a period – headache, diarrhea, cramping, etc. This started around week 11 and lasted through week 13. I was extremely lucky and completely missed out on morning sickness.

Not likely at all. I do not care what all the people say on here. If the sperm runs out of the anus, it doesn’t magically know where to go, something has to get it up there such as a penis or a finger etc. In general, sperm can survive outside the body for about 1 hour if you’re lucky, and vaginal secretions contain acids that break sperm down quite rapidly. Besides, seminal fluid dries out very quickly once outside the body, and once it dies, sperm death results.

Why cannot you just ask a doctor?

3 weeks is something more than a spot of blood; the pill works only first 72 hours and the special “cleaning” also is suitable only for the first week. You can do the abortion only in the first 7 weeks, but the sooner you do it the less complications you will have.

I am very sorry but you sound so naive; well it just a spot of blood and i will just take a pill and it will all be over. Google it and see what happens to that poor spot of blood/baby happens when it is being ripped in parts during abortion.

No danger for not using protection unless you have some disease. In a healthy pregnancy it is perfectly fine for a woman to have sex any time she wants to even till the day she delivers (but not after her water has broken b/c of the risk of infection). As long as she’s comfortable go for it!

How far away are you from getting your period? Or when was your last period? If you’re still a week or more away from being due AF, then it’s unlikely that A) you would’ve become PG and B) that if you did, it would show up yet. Sperm MAY live up to 5-7 days, but usually just 2-3 days, so if you weren’t near ovulation, then it’s unlikely you may have become pregnant, especially as you did use protection. HOWEVER, we all know someone who used protection and got PG anyways, so it doesn’t hurt to get tested. Just ask the doctor to do a PGcy test. S/he will likely just do a urine test at this time, but at least that can be done and hopefully you’ll have peace of mind. And no, she won’t think you’re being silly, just concerned about the possibility of PGcy!

your best bet is definitely to wait til you miss your menstrual cycle. I actually didn’t even have any symptoms until I was almost 3 months along. But a simple test will let you know after you miss your period.
Then just be prepared…keep crackers by the bed! My clue that I was pregnant was that I kept feeling nauseated…and it was all day. I actually had my period for the first month after conceiving. Alot of women don’t actually start experiencing the symptoms until a month or 2 afterwards.

For a home pregnancy test, wait about two weeks and for a blood test at the doctors, wait about four weeks. If you would like to know what your symptoms would be, talk to you mother or her mother. Their symptoms should be very similar to yours. No one can tell you what to expect except for them because every woman works differently. Even though we are all different, your mother and grandmother could give you the most acurate predictions because they are genetically related.

Well you can be pregnant and have signs of your period. So there really isn’t a difference. Usually the signs of being pregnant ( sore nipples, nausea , etc don’t start for a few weeks. ). Why are you afraid the pill doesn’t work. If you are taking it daily at the same time, you should be fine. If not , well then you have reason to worry. BUt you are smart using two types because as you now know condoms DO break. good luck.

first of all, YOU CAN GET PREGNANT FROM ANAL!!!! so dont let him lead you into doing that with the :you cant get pregnant” line. you can get pregnant. in a way, i cant picture it, but my doctor explained it to me, your holes are connected from within…sorry for the lousy explanation lol. and by “knows what hes doing” do you mean the pull out method? that is never reliable as they cant always catch it in time and there is such thing as pre-cum. just be aware that all sex is better with a condom, maybe not feeling wise, but as far as safety goes.

I think its a great idea. I’m also for forced sterilization of…well, a large part of the population. I think we should require IQ tests before you’re allowed to breed, own a pet, drive a car or be within 150 yards of me.

I had a long, hot day in the sun yesterday with a whole bunch of morons and their spawn. The one fat child was yanking this cute little puppy around on a leash, and the puppy was OBVIOUSLY terrified of the crowds. The things mother was standing there, not doing anything about it. That being said, the child was obviously born before the mother was 21, so yeah.

But, we’d never get away with it. Just like there’s no way to do anything about ensuring the elderly are still capable of driving without enforcing the rules on everyone. Not that I don’t think the elderly can drive, my grandma does just fine. My grandfather on the other hand willingly surrendered his license because he knows he can’t.

You know, I’ve just realized that people get offended way, way too easily.

Mandatory birth control would be a good thing. I know plenty of parents that would be happy that they don’t have to worry about their child getting pregnant (or being the talk of the neighborhood because they put a 13 year old on BC ‘just in case, because EVERYONES kid is on it.)

I am 23 weeks pregnant, and I have had frequent urination since 6 weeks pregnant. It slowed down at 14 weeks, but I still go a lot, especially at night. Hunger pangs come and go, but extreme hunger started around 16 weeks and again mostly at night.

Try and keep saltines or pretzels by your bed if you get nauseous at night or right when you wake up. Also note what foods really trigger you getting sick. With my first child, it was orange juice. Also keep plenty water on hand so you do not get dehydrated.

That’s a terrible idea. It’s like taking away the motivation to get educated. It could also increase the risk of STDs cause being terrified of getting pregnant encorages people to use a condom. While it can be a solution for some teen pregnancies, I don’t see why the vast majority of teens who actually don’t get pregnant because they have enough brains should suffer the artificial hormones. Those pills have adverse side effects on blood pressure, and for many the risk of a heart disease is higher than that of teen pregnancy.

There is a new pregnancy test on the market that can detect pregnancy very early. I would pee on that & see what happens. If it comes back negative, I’d feel a bit more settled, but if my period was as much as 10 minutes late, I’d buy another & try it again.

BTW-I knew I was preggers after about a week. My pee started smelling funny.

They can be very different. A good example is breast tenderness. For a first pregnancy, your breasts have a lot of work to do in getting ready to nurse, while for subsequent pregnancies, the basic plumbing, if you will, is already in place. My symptoms were pretty similar both times, except for that.

With my first pregnancy I was first checked at 36 weeks, no dialation. 37-39 weeks 1 cm. I was induced at 39 weeks bc of high blood pressure. With my 2nd pregnancy I was checked at 36 weeks, 1 cm dialated. 37-38 weeks I was 2 cm. I was induced at 38 weeks bc of high blood pressure. I’m not 26 wks pregnant with our 3rd baby and very curious to see how it turns out!

Usually progesterone is prescribed to pregnant women who are at high risk for a miscarriage either due to low progesterone levels or due to a history of miscarriages due to unknown factors. If your doctor knows that you are pregnant and she prescribed them to you then she obviously had a good reason and she should have explained why to you. Call up your doctor’s office and ask them why you are getting them.

You could try soda crackers and warm coke first thing in the morning. I have had people swear by this. There are also preggie pops that you can find at most maternity stores, and if your sickness is really bad you can talk to your doctor and they can prescribe you something for it. Good luck.

yeah, most of those people are just “looking” for symptoms to be preggo. Most women in their pregnancy either maintain their regular diet or eat less in their first trimester…. I ate less. I didn’t get more hungry until I hit my second trimester. But yes, peeing a lot more in the beginning is normal

The Answers is Yes. You can take it untill you around 8 weeks pregnant. I wouldnt recommend it though I had it last year and what the pill does is enduce labour very painfull and unpleasent experience

No that would be unacceptable. There are too many side effects to the pill. I took it for a year and my blood pressure went through the roof. It’s better to limit pregnancy by requiring sex education classes, and any parent who objects to that would not be allowed to seek public assistance if their kid gets pregnant. There is also the issue that this idea smacks of sexual discrimination. Why should only the females be responsible? I know, I know, only girls get pregnant, but if we teach the boys correctly, then they will know that they need to use condoms, not only for birth control, but to prevent disease. The pill can tend to cause a false sense of security, so condom use would not be as common since they wouldn’t worry about getting pregnant. You’ve probably seen all the stink made when one state tried to make the cervical cancer vaccine mandatory. It didn’t last long. Also, what you say about the shot makes it even worse. I have known several women who took the shot and had horrible bleeding for months afterward. It prevented pregnancy all, right, because they couldn’t have sex.

I was dilated to 1cm at 36 weeks and was in labor and didn’t even know it. LOL. But yes labor is usually much quicker with the second baby and gets shorter with having more babies. Your body has had to do it before, so now it knows what to do and what to expect. The first pregnancy and labor/delivery is kind of like a practice run and after you’ve done it once it only gets easier every time you have to do it.

Like someone else already said, if your Dr. gave them to you there is a reason. This isn’t just a normal pregnancy prescription. It means you progesterone is low and you can miscarry if your body doesn’t have enough it cannot sustain a healthy pregnancy. It will not cause abortion as it is a hormone that is made by your own body. Mine was low at the beginning of my pregnancy and I had to take them until 12 weeks, at this point the placenta takes over the production of progesterone to sustain the pregnancy. If you are planning on breastfeeding, they will tell you to wait for birth control or put you on what’s called a “minipill” at six weeks; the hormones in birth control pills can change breastmilk production and breastfeeding exerts some measure of birth control by itself (not enough to rely on though). If you choose not to breastfeed, they will put you on a birth control pill at six weeks. You can use condoms until you have been on the birth control for at least a month. Many women have sex before the six-week mark, they wait until they stop bleeding and any stitches have healed but some find it hard to wait. Talk about birth contro with your Ob-Gyn when you get into week 32 or so. He/she can give you lots of information and help you make a decision. This will give you lots of time to ask lots of questions and your provide will know what special considerations there are for you.

I went down to my GP with cramps and pains in my side and he gave me tablets, my periods were only a couple of days late so i didnt think i was pregnant. Then a couple of days i went back to him and told him the pain was there and the tablets didn work.. He did a test and it came up positive.. He sent me for a scan straight away to see if everything was ok and the person doing the scan told me i was only 4 weeks gone and that the crapms i was feeling was only my womb stretching.. Much of that depends on whether you decide to breastfeed. If you do, you can’t use the pill until you stop. If you don’t, your doctor will prescribe the pill for you at your 6 week checkup. Make sure you get a sample pack from him/her so you can start taking it once you get your period. You of course have many options when it comes to birth control besides the pill, but the pill is a good one. Good luck to you and your baby!

You should be able to take a positive test ten days or so after conception, if its negative wait a week…take another. False negatives are common. But if it’s positive…you’re pregnant, girl! By this time you may have already started to feel some symptoms aka sore boobs. Other than that the symptoms come on a little slower and are different for everyone. Yes, its fine. You can even get your bikini line done too.
Just don´t lie on your belly for obvious reasons and lie on your side when the therapsit is doing the back of the legs.
It will hurt alot more tho because your skin is more sensitive! Also, the wax temperature may need to be lowered for the same reason. Try a little bit of wax on your wrist first to check the temp.
I always feel so much more sexier when I get my legs done so its nice to get them done and do something for yourself.

It’s safe to have sex through the entire pregnancy unless your pregnancy is high risk for some reason. In the second trimester sex should be more gentle and you should be careful not to put weight on the baby, but in the first trimester you can have sex any way you want.

Sex is so safe during pregnancy that doctors sometimes recommend the mother and father to have sex to try to induce labor if the baby is late. Doctors also recommend the parents have sex throughout the pregnancy because it keeps the mother and father’s relationship close and physical, and it helps the mother continue to feel good about herself.

yes. unless it contains high levels of patrolium products (which it wont) its perfectly fine. i’d avoid alot of contact with gas (a few drops wont matter but dont go dipping your hands in it. it sounds od but mecanics would wash their hands in it because its a solvent). it can actualy get absorbed into the skin and into the blood streem.

There is no way to definitely differentiate between the two. The pill works pretty well, I wouldn’t worry. If you don’t get your period, just take a test. That is they only way you can tell if they were from PMS or Pregnancy.

Pulling out is not a very effective method of birth control. False positive pregnancy tests are rare. The only way I know a birth control test would turn positive is if you leave it sits for too long after you take it. It must be read within the time limit recommended on the box, or the test is not valid. The a false negative happens quite often as some tests don’t detect pregnancy as early as others. Having a low body fat and restricted diet will contribute to missing your period, but not to false negatives.

there’s the “pull out” method while using a condom. Birth control-the pill, ring, IUD, patch. A combination is the best way, but still not 100% effective. I know someone who got pregnant while using a condom, on the pill, and being treated for cervical cancer. Abstinence is the only sure way.

For the first 2 to 3 months , it’s delicate and not safe to have sex. Again at the last stage it is not . In between , it is OK provided there is no other complicity . Your may resort to many other enjoyable alternatives in the mid stage like oral , sex between boobs ( pressed in ) , fingering ( for you ) etc to enjoy . My daughter’s dad and I fought all the time when I was pregnant with her. I was always stressed out! She was under 5lbs, and colicky like crazy! She also has lots of anxieties. She was in the 5th percentile for weight and height for her first 9 months of life. Her dad and I never fought around her, but there was always tension in the air. We divorced and he moved out when she was 9 months old. at her 12 month check-up she had already shot up to the 25th percentile, and was in the 50th by 18 months. She was also happier, and healthier. I believe a lot of it had to do with a better, happier home.

Take 500 – 1000mg of Vitamin C ( you buy at any store) every 2-4 hours for 2 weeks. Also this sounds a bit wierd but if you buy some parsley ( fresh veg section of stores) and put a some leaves up in your vagina ,change every 2-4 hours) this helps to bring on late menstruation. If after 2 weeks you have not had your period then you might be pregnant. The Vitamin C helps to stop any fertilized eggs from implanting in your womb . Use a humidifier, saline nasal spray, or what has worked for me is a netty pot, its where you pour saline water in one nostril and it comes out the other. It seems to have worked the best for me. I also have a cold right now and used it to clear up my congestion and it has helped as well. I don’t really believe in medication during pregnancy so I haven’t even inquired about it.

when was the first day of you last period?

go here and calculate your ovulation date and it will tell you when you can get pregnant and when you can’t.

If you had sex in those times of ovulation you have a high chance of being pregnant. but if it wasn’t in those dates you aren’t pregnant.

or you can wait 2 weeks and then take a test. but for me that is wayy to long of a wait.

i didn’t get the frequent pee thing until i was around 8 months with both of my kids. I don’t think i ate more than usual but my eating habits definitely changed lots, i would eat things i previously disliked, like bbq sauce and pizza lol. It was the day i ate baked beans, which i have hated since childhood, i thought something was seriously wrong! I still love pizza and bbq sauce but not beans, it was a one time only thing!

It is a great idea theoretically, but it would be hard to enforce. There are so many side effects to birth control that some women just wouldn’t be able to handle or wouldn’t want.
Another question would be, what type of birth control? An IUD can be very effective but not all women would be accepting of the idea of an IUD or its possible side effects.
If it’s other forms of birth control, you can’t control what people are doing in real-time, it ends up being very personal.

If your doctor has prescribed it,that means you are low on progesterone which is a very important hormone during pregnancy.I know a lot of people who has taken it.It is safe.If you are low on progesterone level ,not taking it would be harmful for your pregnancy.

its is absolutely safe! you can engage in all kinds of positions, even (mildly) intense so you dont get your hormonal levels (or anxiety) too high. the myths about abstinence during pregnancy are all misleading. have fun whenever you want. but only, not so much like when you’r not fertile because your stamina is precious during pregnancy. losing it completely could lead to adverse effects like abortion (dont worry, its the worst case scenario). although abstinence during pregnancy can be safe and risk free, it could also lead to adverse effects like unnecessary anxiety and such. it could even make the body weak to ignore desire etc. make sure your back is straight at all times though, or it can cause unnecessary pressure to the uterus. good luck and god bless you. (personally, mutual fellacio or ’69s’ is the best and safest position during post fertility). peace

You cant just take a pill. You could have taken the morning after pill the day after you had sex but once you are pregnant you need to get it done properly. Go see a doctor or an abortion clinic and get proper medical attention.

If your late then a test should give you an accurate response. Unless you ovulated later then you thought.

If you get a negative I would keep testing every few days as HCG doubles every few days.

You didn’t say how far along u r?
It makes a difference as the 1st trimester can be the most tiring.
To answer u, I’m 25 weeks and took just 3 days off work. We just get on with it….i remember taking limes with me to work to keep the nausea at bay (now how mad must i have looked!) but it worked for me!!
But if you’re worried talk to ur bosses to have u sit out these lessons/have a sub in etc.

Ok you havent been trying long enough to see a ferility dr I think that if in 6mo-1year that then is when they like to see you. Sometimes people take longer to concieve. I would try tracking when you are ovulating, heres the thing you cant buy a test that just tells you youve ovualted, because you are actually only fertile three days before ovulation and the day of, so you need a test that tells you about when you are about to ovulate. Also track your periods and when you have sex. If you arent having regular periods then def. see a fertility dr. About the sex I read that every other day works, but there isnt a difference if you have sex everyday either. So try those things and hopefully you will find yourself pregnant! Good luck!

There is no safe home remedy. At two months you may still be able to get the abortion pill, however. So you can take a pill and terminate the pregnancy in your own home. You can get it at any abortion clinic. If its too late, go they can give you a surgical abortion, at 2 months it will not be painful and will be very safe. good luck.

bad idea… birth control isnt even healthy… i think instead of teaching abstinence in school we should teach teens about virht control… and how to get it if they need it…. they dont do that now and kids are afraid to ask… bottom line is kids are going to have sex… and have the option to make responsible decisions… if we give them the information needed to make these responsible decisions

I had some major heartburn about a week after conception. I only get it when I am pregnant…and it was really horrible at night. I didn’t confirm pregnancy until 5 days after missed period, which would be about 3 weeks after conception. Symptoms don’t necessarily mean there is enough HCG in your body to test positive, cause the first test I took was negative. I kept telling the hubby I got pregnant, and he didn’t believe me. LoL. I had constant dried out nasal passages. I’d blow my nose and everything would be bloody. The only thing that worked for me was steam. I’d hang a towel over my head and bend over a hot running faucet. It always felt so much better afterward.

When people ask this question I always like to refer to the babies born to mothers who lost their husbands in the tragedy of 9/11 in 2001. Can you imagine how stressed and depressed these pregnant women must have been after losing their husbands in such a horrible tragedy, especially knowing their children would never meet their fathers? Their babies were just fine, they had a special on TV last year at this time with some of the mother’s and their children who were effected by the tragedy. As long as you take care of your self physically, your baby should be fine.

If you’re trying to say that you had intercourse 3 days ago, then all I can tell you is that you’ve conceived IF you were ever going to conceive.

Sperm dies off around 72 hours later, so it would’ve fertilized the egg already. Therefore, there’s NOTHING you can do now to “prevent” getting pregnant. The only thing you would be doing is ABORTING an already completed pregnancy, which is murder… so… YOUR CHOICE dear!

i had low levels of hcg around the beginning of my pregnancy and they put me on some medication to fix it, i also had some mild spotting which is pretty normal im now im my 3rd trimester with a healthy baby boy, try not to stress, i know that’s nearly impossible to do right now but stressing could harm your baby also don’t google things about it on the internet they only have worst case scenarios which will only make it worse. i would only start to worry if you start cramping really bad and i was told as long as you don’t bleed through a pad your fine.

I don’t think that it is too early…but many pregnancy symptoms are very similar to PMS. And you could just be having more severe PMS symptoms since even they can vary month to month. Wait another week for your period…if you don’t get it, take a test!

There is an old wives tale that if you cry lots during pregnancy your baby will after its born. I don’t believe it of course. Also I am not sure about the stress affecting the baby as much as the pregnancy, it can cause early delivery , high blood pressure etc which puts the Baby at risk that way. I think it would have be quiet a lot of stress to do so though – like one major event or a constant stream of stress through the pregnancy. I had a fairly healthy pregnancy and a very healthy baby though she was early. When I was 4 months along a close family member passed away and then when I was 5 months a long I lost my brother. I helped raise him and a big part of me is gone because of this. I managed to hold myself pretty good. My girl was born two months early but I don’t think it was because of this, I will really ever know.

unless you’re husband it rolling in the dough, so to speak, its just one of those things that you have to do i guess. i haven’t been there myself yet, but i figure that it only lasts so long and you’re doing it for your child so, that counts for something. be careful though while in the gym. when you get really tired and cant concentrate, try getting up and walking around a little bit.

are you taking a prenatal vitamin?? i know that they REALLY help with fatigue and all that.

Hardly a solution.
Mistakes happen. Girls aren’t always going to take birth control.
Birth control is not 100% effective.

EDIT: Also, this idea implies teenagers are still children who cannot make their own decisions.
The world needs to stop being the parents of everyone’s children – they need to make their own mistakes. The best the world/society/etc… can do is teach these teenagers how to prevent these things and how to make better decisions.
Abstinence-only eduction should be stopped. >__

My cervix stayed slammed shut until I was 40-1/2 weeks. At that point, I was open 2cm, max. I was scheduled for an induction on the day I would have been exactly 41 weeks, but I went into labor the day before. My labor hit me so quickly – I had contractions coming every 3-5 minutes within one hour. By the time I got to the hospital, I was already open 5cm. It was my first pregnancy. Best of luck!

With my baby my contractions started after the second time they gave me the inducing gel – she really really didn’t want to come out! In fact even after the contractions started AND they broke my water I still didn’t dilated! It wasn’t until the epidural and the stronger drugs that made me dilated.

Also the semen thing.. that’s normal you only need one to get you pregnant that other has to go some where (ie right back out)…. you only need to lay with your butt elevated for 15 mins

I’m on the Gold Coast & have a medibank card (I’m in top hospital & extras cover) & am having my bubs at a private hospital I can tell you my experience so far as I’m 25 weeks pregnant.

Each Ob appointment is $80 & you get $30 ish back from medicare & you’ll see the Ob every four weeks until 28weeks then every two weeks. Not covered by medibank.

The two important scans at 12weeks & 19weeks were around the $300 mark each & get minimal back from medicare. Not covered by medibank.

My Ob charged $1850 at the 24 week appointment for his services of which medicare will contribute a whopping $100 & medibank will contribute $0.00.

Antenatal classes at private hospitals charge $240+ & you’ll get $0 back. I’d recommend finding a private midwife as you’ll pay about the same & get more one on one attention. I called my private hospital & asked if they could give me the name of someone & turned out the nurse who teaches the antenatal class at the hospital also does private classes which was great as she’ll know the hospital procedures etc.

As far as the in hospital goes, I’m hoping that’s when medibank will finally come to the table as that’s what they’re really there for.

If you reach your safety net (as at 2009 = $1111) out of pocket expenses in a calendar year via medicare by the time your 24week bill is due at your Ob you’ll get 80% back. Unfortunately for me I did reach my safety net but then 1st Jan rolled around & wiped it clear just in time for my $1850 bill grrr

As for the amount of money I’ve spent on actual baby purchases that’s a personal choice you could spend a little or a lot & that’s up to your individual budget.

Edit – Oh just remembered the initial Ob appointment was $220.

Also, I dare say a lot of these figures I’ve mentioned will be more in Sydney, I know for a fact they’re more expensive just in Brisbane a friend of mine’s initial consult at her Ob was $375 & medicare only gives back $60.

Edit #2 – Hopefully you won’t need it but I’ve been on Zofran since week 6 (for severe morning sickness) & am still taking it. The cost is $60 per box & you only get four tablets per box, this isn’t covered by PBS & medicare won’t help you, this is where Medibank will if you have pharmaceutical cover. Four tablets in my bad weeks lasts only 2 days!!! So I have paid $30 per day in most weeks just to get through the day!!! Medibank gives me back on each $60 packet, $30. Remember too that the pharmaceutical isn’t much per year, in this case I’m lucky I got a top up on Jan 1st!

It is completely normal to get occasional pains, especially if it is around the time your period would normally have been due. You are feeling your uterus and muscles starting to stretch. So long as it is not severe and you do not have any bleeding you have not got anything to be concerned about.

thats great, congratulations! – you will be able to detect the hormone hgc in your urine roughly 12 days after conception with a home preg. test,. so around the time your period is due – i think the doctor can do a more sensitive blood test as changes in your body begin almost immediately – if you have been using bcp it may take more than a couple of cycles to get pregnant.
my partner and i are ttc at the moment as well and i am v excited about it and the next 2 weeks waiting till i can test is going to drive me crazy! good luck i hope its good news for you

I didn’t start feeling anything until 6 weeks. That’s when the morning sickness hit! I believe it was 6 weeks to the day as well…and I thought I had stomach flu. I went to the doc 2-3 days after I started getting sick and that’s when I took the test!

Do not listen to the folks who say its too soon. If you know your body, you will know when something is out of the ordinary. I have 3 kids, so I know. But to answer your question, yes you can have symptoms after a week. Albeit at that point they may be very minor symptoms. I have a one year old and 3 days after she was conceived, I noticed my breasts unusually tender. (I knew the day of conception because it was planned.) But some women also experience what seem like pregnancy symtpoms that could be attributed to other things as well, such as hormonal changes or PMS.

wow, i clean houses so durning my morning sickness, i would throw up in the gutter and go back in the house and clean. I just suck it up around customers and my partner and my boss. No matter how you feel just tell people, ‘im okay’ I can proudly say that i lasted 13 weeks without one call out sick day. It was/is very hard to go through.

If you haven’t had your period yet, you need to see a doctor because it sounds to me like you’re pregnant. That’s how I found out I was.
As far as the ejaculation goes, personally, I wouldn’t worry. But I would go to the doctor to be sure.

You just do it. Most women don’t have a choice as they need the financial support. Go to bed early if you can, or take a nap after work. I’ve worked through my previous two pregnancies and I am 9 weeks pregnant and working, going to school and clinicals, and raising a two year old and three year old at the same time! THAT is exhaustion!

Im really sorry sweetheart, but it doesnt sound too good, low rising hcg levels are normally not a good sign. But it can be ok in some cases, the bleeding that you had, what colour was it? brown and pink blood is not too bad, but red blood isnt a good sign, depending on the quantity. Did they not do a scan for you, you possibly might be having an ectopic pregnancy.
On the bright side, that was the worst case scenario, but you needed to know the worst that could happen, Some women do bleed in pregnancy, like a normal period every month. It might have been still ecess blood from implantation, or maby a low lying placenta. Keep positive and I do hope the both of you are ok, good luck

If you have missed your period already then the pregnancy test should be able to detect the HcG hormone in your urine. I would say test again. Make sure you read the directions and if you are worried about doing it incorrectly then pee in a cup first and then dip the pregnancy test into the urine.
