If it's caught early enough, rather than losing the tube and so on, a dose of methotrexate can often resolve things and preserve the tube. If you can swing it, I highly suggest the sonogram sooner rather than later. If hCG levels are lower than expected for your stage of pregnancy, doctors are one step closer to diagnosing ectopic pregnancy. I once had Salpingitis, the Dr`s thought it might be a tubal pregnancy.
