Bella asked:
Since hCG is produced due to a fertilized egg which is implanted in the uterus, is there any hCG produced in the case of an ectopic pregnancy? If so is it readable on a pregnancy test? Or if the fertilized egg does not produce the larger amounts of hCG that an implanted egg in the uterus would, is a physical check-up the only means of determining an ectopic pregnancy?

yes, it can read an ectopic pregnancy, but the only way of knowing if it is ectopic is by getting an ultrasound.
yes because even tght its ectopic its still a fetilsed egg and its implated in the feloipion tube so it welll still produce hcg
Yes if the HCG level is high enough to detect on the test.
An ectopic pregnancy is exactly the same as a normal pregnancy – just in the wrong place. So, yes a pregnancy test will read positive if you have an ectopic pregnancy.
No matter what kind of pregnancy you experience, a HPT will show a positive if you are pregnant. It will not show specifcally if its ectopic or not.
a hpt can read a etopic but only a ultrasound can see it and know it’s etopic.
Yes a pregnancy test can read an ectopic pregnancy
I dont think so
A pregnancy test can definitely tell if you are pregnant, even if it is ectopic, however it will not specify if it’s ectopic. The best way to determine that is by ultrasound. Also, the level of hCG is usually lower in ectopic pregnancies. If you think you might have an ectopic pregnancy, I would definitely recommend getting it checked out. I had one recently and had to have emergency surgery as a result of it.
