How early can a pregnancy test be positive?

Jam asked:

I want to know from you guys personal experience how early you got a positive and what brands you used. I could possibly be 3w3d preggers right now and have taken 3 pregnancy test with negative results (only 1 of those pregnancy test was for early detection).

I took a generic brand of pregnancy test the day I was due to start my period. I was 4 weeks at the time. It came back with a very faint positive so I went to the dr for blood tests and got the same result.

I got a positive at 3 weeks 4 days with my first child, but not until 5 weeks with this pregnancy. I used one of the dollar store tests the first pregnancy then confirmed with a more expensive one (not sure which but I know it cost $13). I took the clear blue digital this time with the pregnant or not pregnant readout. I really like that brand, no guessing on whether there is a faint line or not!

The best answer is to test when your period is due. But, if you are anything like me, I just can’t wait. If you use a sensitive test like First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test (see information below), you can test as early as four days before your missed period. Good luck!
