How far along a pregnancy can be terminated if a developmental abnormality is detected?

Kaytee asked:

I thought you can elect to end the pregnancy until 22 weeks, if there are abnormalities in fetal development. Is that so?

yes, even later in some states.

Depending on the state, it is 22-26 weeks. These are done in a hospital, not in a clinic.

You can elect to end a pregnancy at any time during the pregnancy if there is an abnormality (in most states). Certain procedures to end the pregnancy might be prohibited after a certain point in the pregnancy.

Its still your baby whether it has developmental abnormalities or not. You should not terminate a pregnancy for this reason but celebrate having a special child.
