How late should your period be before you worry about pregnancy?

Emily asked:

We have been trying to get pregnant since last june. This month I had some strange spotting around the time I think I ovulated and it lasted for seven days. Also we had *** around that same time. The last two periods have been 35 day cycles. Now it is 35 days and I still have not got a period. When should I start to wonder about pregnancy should i wait a few days? I took some early response pregnancy tests and they were negative but i didn’t use my FMU. What are my chances of being pregnant?

Wait a few more days and test again. After a week if you still don’t have a positive or your period go talk to your doctor. I don’t think that 7 day spotting could have possibly been pregnancy related because you were ovulating then.

If you were due for AF today then then try a test. Tests are best taken during your first *** of the morning (hormones are the strongest). I think you know that though since you mentioned it. lol.
Sometimes you don’t get a BFP just because your body doesn’t have the amount of hormones others do. If you still haven’t seen AF after a week, and are still getting a BFN, go get a blood test done. They can detect the hormones better but most docs won’t do them unless it’s been a week.

What confuses me is that your spotting was 7 days long. That doesn’t sound like implantation bleeding.
I guess all you can do now is wait and keep testing. Good luck hun
