A dogs gestation period is approximately 63 days. If your dog is pregnant, she should see the vet at least once to make sure there are no problems.

Gestation for all dogs is 58 to 63 days. It doesn’t matter what breed they are.
Number of pups is usually between 2 and 5. Pregnant dam’s need extra calories to help her maintain her weight and give the pups extra nutrition also. She needs to be fed good quality Food and in her last 3 weeks of pregnancy puppy food to help the pups gain weight and grown healthy.

The average gestation period lasts for about 60-63 days. Take your dog to the Vet and they will perform a scan on her to find out if she is pregnant and how many puppies she will have, although in Shih Tzus it is rarely more than 5 or 6 puppies. Make sure all of the dietary needs of a pregnant dog are being met for the sake of the puppies please. If you think she has just recently been impregnated I strongly recommend that you take her to the vet for an emergency spay, but if she is rather far along in the pregnancy you had better start reading up on breeding, birthing and raising puppies.

This could have been avoided if you had spayed your dog.

The dog should not have been allowed to come pregnant you obviously dont know what to do.you should read online about it and see a vet all dog are pregnant for 9weeks give a day or two she could have 1 to 5 or 6 of course she needs extra care wouldent you if you were pregnant she needs more food around 4 weeks of preganancy or earlier in some cases if she wants more give her more she will need it,you really need to read on dog preganancy what if she were to have complications you may not know signs of trouble.Adog this young should not really be bred from she should be at earliest 1 and half years old so her body has more time to mature.

Dogs are pregnant for 63 days. When I realized that my dog was pregnant I started giving her prenatal vitamins immediately. Now some people may laugh but it worked, she had 11 healthy puppies with absolutely no complications. I would take her to the vet to find out if she is pregnant. good luck!

If you are unsure if she is pregnant then you take her to the vet to find out!
She could have anywhere up to 8 puppies. As she advances in her pregnancy you will need to offer her more frequent feeds and a diet that will keep her healthy as well as enabling her to build up a good milk supply

hi there i am a vet nurse, a dogs gestation period can be any where between 58 and 69 days. in smaller breed dogs like yours if mated by a small male will generally have between 2 to 5 pups. your dog will need extra nutrition as what she is eating is going into the growth of the pups. She needs to be fed a good quality puppy food throughout the preganancy and right up until the puppies are weaned as they will be taking alot out of her. You should also take her to the vet for a general health check up. They can palpate your dogs abdomen around the 42day mark to check for pups or x ray or ultrasound her. I would advise going to your local vet for a check up and getting further info from them.

Well first she is young, what would have bred her? About a month into pregnancy start her on puppy food, and gestation is 5+ days from conception, amount of puppies, well again what was she bred with, you should expect 3 to 8 pups depending on which part of her cycle she was bred.

Since she is too young to be having babies (it’s kind of like a 12 year old girl being pregnant) I’d suggest the safest and least expensive option would be to spay her immediately.

    She MAY be pregnant?

You don’t know the first thing about breeding and here your dog MAY be pregnant. Of course she needs extra care.

You are not suppose to breed your dog until it’s 2.

Thanks for bringing another unwanted, unneeded litter of pups into the world. Another BYB that doesn’t have a friggin clue.

    Please spay your dog.
